Joys of Journaling #5

Journaling Joys From the desk of Jill Schoenberg—

Today my attention is completely captured by innovative and new ways to use a journal. I love to innovate. Do you? I love to share too, and below I’d like to share with you some neat journaling inspirations in the form of “Have you ever” questions.

 “Have You Ever” Journal Prompts

  • Have you ever written in your journal using your left hand, or if you are a lefty have you written with your right Joys of Journal Keepinghand?
  • Have you ever shared your journal entries with your best friend, spouse or child and asked for their feedback?
  • Have you ever dedicated an entire day to quiet reflection and journal keeping?
  • Have you ever sat under a tree on a gorgeous sunny day and written out your wildest and deepest dreams?
  • Have you ever written a letter to your heart in your journal?
  • Have you ever used watercolors to paint a picture in your journal, and, in the process, make the pages all crinkled and wavy?
  • Have you ever thought about how many gazillion ways you can answer the question “Have you ever?”

May your journaling be filled with inspirations and insights; joys and blessings; discoveries and adventures. Most of all, may your journal keeping bring you unbridled pleasure and vast peace, joy and happiness.

Happy journal writing to you!

Sincerely,

Jill

  1. Jill,
This list has such an open, delightful, wonderful energy to it! So many possibilities with our journaling practice. So fun and enlightening. I do write with both hands almost every time I write a journal entry. I started that practice several months ago, and I find I’m filling them in faster as a result. It’s all a great experience that I recommend to other journal writers.

I have chosen your post, Joys of Journaling #5: Journal Keeping Innovations, as the #JournalChat Pick of the Day on 8/30/11 for all things journaling on Twitter. I will post a link on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, my blog and website Refresh with Dawn Herring and in Refresh Journal.

You’re welcome to join us for #JournalChat Live on Thursday at 4 CST/2 PST. This week our topic is on why our lives are worth writing on the journal page; no life is too boring or mundane.

Thanks again for these very joyful ideas for our journal keeping practice. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Be refreshed,

  2. Great post ๐Ÿ™‚

I can honestly say that I’ve done several things from your list, and some in modified version, as it’s my usual practice to ask “What If” or how to spend a day with my journal.

  3. Why thank you, Dawn. It’s always such an honor to have my writings shared on JournalChat! I’ll have to check my schedule for Thursday and get back to you on the invite. Ooooh… I hope I can make it work ๐Ÿ˜€
